New images from the 'mezoscope' are looking pretty good. I think that in addition to the scientific value there is also some quite interesting artistic value to the images.
What you are seeing (left) is an elliptically polarized light image of a breast biopsy/retrieval specimen. The patterns are collagen fibers, which 'self-illuminate' under polarized light.
The original image is about 30000x20000 pixels so it's practically 'poster size'.
I've updated the 'old' tensortek mezoscope site with some new images and a 'Zoomify' section where you can view some of the gigapixel images interactively.
